Maryland is proud to host the 2017 Envirothon Competition. Envirothon is a hands-on team based competition that gives high school students hands-on experience in natural resource subjects. Students compete in teams of five in categories of soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, and an environmental issue relevant to the host region. This year our issue is Agricultural Soil and Water Conservation Stewardship.

This years competition will be held in scenic Emmitsburg, Maryland at the beautiful Mount Saint Mary’s University. Teams from all over will have an opportunity to see the bounty of what Maryland has to offer; from the hills and valleys around Emmitsburg, to visiting our Nation’s Capital on our education day, to picking blue crabs by the Chesapeake Bay students and teachers will have a true Maryland experience.
